When it comes to sugarcraft, Frances McNaughton is top of the list. In this book she has created 10 step by step projects to help you create fairies to adorn cakes. The techniques are clearly explained and templates are provided where needed. Moulds are used. The instructions are very detailed. Apart from Be My Wife shown on the front cover, which made me think of Tinkerbell, there are nine more themed fairies including a Gothic one (her wings look a little bat-like). Frances McNaughton’s sugarcraft books have become international bestsellers. About the Author
G. Tyler Miller has written 62 textbooks for introductory courses in environmental science, basic ecology, energy, and environmental chemistry. Since 1975, Miller's books have been the most widely used textbooks for environmental science in the United States and throughout the world. They have been used by almost three million students and have been translated into eight languages. Miller has a professional background in chemistry, physics, and ecology. He has a PhD from the University of Virginia and has received two honorary doctoral degrees for his contributions to environmental education. He taught college for 20 years, developed one of the nation's first environmental studies programs, and developed an innovative interdisciplinary undergraduate science program before deciding to write environmental science textbooks full time in 1975. Currently, he is the president of Earth Education and Research, which is devoted to improving environmental education.

Scott Spoolman is a writer and textbook editor with more than 30 years of experience in educational publishing. He has worked with Tyler Miller since 2003 as a contributing author on editions of LIVING IN THE ENVIRONMENT, ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE, and SUSTAINING THE EARTH. With Norman Myers, he also coauthored ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES AND SOLUTIONS: A MODULAR APPROACH. Spoolman holds a master's degree in science journalism from the University of Minnesota. He has authored numerous articles in the fields of science, environmental engineering, politics, and business. He worked as an acquisitions editor on a series of college forestry textbooks. I received my rental text yesterday and I was surprised that it was brand-new! (First time renter here). I quickly read through the first chapter and it was surprisingly very interesting. I'm hoping the rest of the text is the same! It's also filled with beautiful photos, graphs, and illustrations making it nice to look at, too.

It makes for Informative Easy Reading - Knowledge Packed

I have now bought about 30 massage books. Kellogg's book came on a whim, no real purpose for the purchase. Then I started reading and realized that I happened upon a classic.
Many of his massage and anatomy claims use resources over 100 years past so they will prove obsolete because of our new knowledge and technological marvels. His knowledge, analysis, massage applications, and synthesis of the paths to pain reduction remain valid; if not scientifically proven to date.
This condensed, easy to read prose has a strongly structured presentation. I love it and its style. We don't write like this any more in technical writing, but I see that I will use Kellogg's style for clear and distinct presentations of complex material.
Buy this book for yourself and others to follow you.

So I have now bought 4 of Kellogg's The Art of Massage books for my personal use and as gifts to massage instructors.

Good book/ should not of ordered used!!

I order the used one because the pricing on the new ones were out of sight luke $275.00 ea. The book has so many pen notations. Should not have ordered that book, but cannot afford the high priced one. So I am trying to ignore the writings. At least 3/4 of the books pages are written on. Even has the previous owners name inside cover. Very Sad.

About the Author

David Mantus worked in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry for more than 20 years. He not only served as vice president of regulatory affairs at Cubist Pharmaceuticals but also held various regulatory roles at Sention Inc., Shire Biologics, PAREXEL, the Massachusetts Public Health Laboratory, the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and Procter and Gamble Pharmaceuticals. He received his BS in chemistry from the College of William and Mary, his MS and Ph.D in chemistry from Cornell University, and was a post-doctoral research fellow in biomedical engineering at the University of Washington. He is currently associate professor of pharmaceutical sciences and director, regulatory affairs at MCPHS University in Boston.

Douglas J. Pisano received his Ph.D in law, policy, and society from Northeastern University. He has participated on the editorial advisory boards of multiple journals and received the Special Service Award for the Enhancement of Regulatory Education from the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society. A registered pharmacist and active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy and the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society, he formerly served as dean of the School of Pharmacy–Boston and is currently professor of pharmacy administration, vice-president of academic affairs, and provost at MCPHS University in Boston.

Great Reference Text

This book has proven, thus far, to be the best reference source I have come across as a student pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Regulatory Affairs. I would highly recommend this book for all students in a Regulatory Affairs program of study. Wish I would have known about this book when I first started the program.

Below expectations

I was not satisfied by this book.

First of all, in the chapters there are many repetitions of the same Topics. For instance, the same concept of GMP is repetead across the different chapters, wasting pages and making the Reader bored.
This is because each chapter was written by a different Person. So my understanding is that the Editors failed to harmonize the Contents across the book.
Moreover, some Topics like a Medical Device PMA are not deeply discussed, and this is by far the most complex aspect of the regulations that me as buyer I was expecting.
Finally, the book does not have Workflows to simplify the understanding as well as Examples. Would have been very useful if, for instance, the authors take the example of a recent Approved drug or device and explain more in Details how to do it.

PS: In the book you find much more space on the drugs than for device/biologics.
So, be carefull of what is your interest.

There are better books out there

I was required to purchase this as the assigned textbook for a graduate course. I have not read all of it yet, but have read at least four chapters already. This book contains generally good information; however, it really could have benefited from better editing. It contains numbers of grammatical mistakes and some sections read as if they were first written in another language and then translated into English. The way the chapters have been ordered also strikes me as somewhat illogical. Not the best book I have purchased on this subject.
