Outstanding

This is a must in any urgent care/ER ....photos are excellent and just the right amount of written text to have a working review of almost everything one would see in these settings.It has always been easier to learn info. when it is hooked up to a photo. This is one of those that should and could be read cover to cover by any primary care/ER physician. It expands your differential greatly. I'm ordering my second one tonite.

This is a must for all medical students, doctors, and even parents. I read one case a day during my medical education and it has provided many benefits. I have even used it to save two trips to the ER (because the treatments at the ER would have been fluids and pain medication).

The information is good, it comes from unquestionably monster players

I don't think this format conveys the information as effectively as a text book style format would.

And the biggest complaint with the kindle version I purchased is that whenever there are musical examples the text refers to the workbook, but the workbook is not included, so there is a big disconnect there. There are some musical examples, but it appears there are more detailed ones in the workbook. I guess? And also, no audio examples.

The information is good, it comes from unquestionably monster players, but the format is an interview style, not a straight music text style which is not the best presentation for conveying this kind of information.

Poor Audio recording, mixing and quality

There is SOME decent information here, but id you are going to sell an AUDIO recording, PLEASE record it profesionally. And don't mix music in at the end when the subject is still talking and have the music drown out what the subject is saying.
The recording quality is horrendous! This is very difficult to listen to and when Sheppard starts playig sax, it blows out my eardrums because the interview portion is so low.
It's really too bad because this isn't a bad idea, but the execution was very poor. The interviewer needs some experience interviewing, and needs to hire an editor, a recordist and a mixer. This effort is mediocre at best.

About the Author
Eric Chiang received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, and his Masters and Doctorate in Economics at the University of Florida. His first academic position was at New Mexico State University.  Currently, Eric is Associate Professor and Graduate Director in the Economics Department at Florida Atlantic University. Eric also serves as the Director of Instructional Technology for the College of Business.

In 2009, Eric was recipient of FAU’s highest teaching award, the Distinguished Teacher of the Year. He received the Stewart Distinguished Professorship awarded by the College of Business among numerous other teaching awards. He has published 25 articles in peer-reviewed journals on a range of subjects including technology spillovers, intellectual property rights, telecommunications, and health care. His research has appeared in leading journals including the Review of Economics and Statistics, the Journal of Technology Transfer, and the Southern Economic Journal. He has presented at major conferences including the AEA Conference on Teaching, EEA, WEAI, SEA, and NBER meetings, as well as at universities across the country and world.

As an instructor who teaches both face-to-face and online courses, Eric uses a variety of technological tools including clickers, text-response systems, and homework management systems to complement his active learning style lectures. As an administrator in the College of Business, Eric’s role as Director of Instructional Technology involves assisting instructors with effectively implementing classroom technologies. In this position, Eric also ensures that the quality of online courses meets accreditation standards including those set by AACSB.

In addition to his dedication to teaching economic principles and his administrative duties, Eric devotes time to new research in economic education. His current research agenda focuses on the effects of online versus face-to-face courses and the power of visual learning. The third edition of CoreEconomics embodies Eric’s devotion to economic education and the benefits from adapting to the new, often creative ways in which students learn and instructors teach.

In his spare time, Eric enjoys studying cultures and languages, and travels frequently, even if only for a brief stay to keep costs low. He has visited all 50 U.S. states and over 70 countries, and enjoys long jogs and walks when he travels in order to experience local life to the fullest.

Excellent Customer Service

Originally when I ordered the book from this company, after two weeks I had not received it. So I emailed the company stating that I had not received the book. The following day I received an email stating that their records showed that the book had been shipped out but that they would refund my money anyway. The book was cheap, only $3.99 I believe so it wasn't about the money but I had been inconvenienced a little by not having the book by the time school started. But, the fast reply to my inquiry, and the fact that they refunded me my money so fast even though the delay in shipping wasn't there fault is what made me give such a high review for this product. Two weeks after sending and receiving the emails I finally got my book in the mail in the condition that was described. I would definitely do business with this company in the future.

Perfect condition

The product was received in perfect condition. It was a lot cheaper than purchasing new. It was not marked up at all. The only thing that I was not too pleased about was that it took a long time to reach me. It did fall within the time specified but it just happened to be at the latest date given.

Less evocative, but in the long run more significant, has been the rising interest in Alevi folklore and religious practices. Questions have also arisen as to what this branch of Islamic heterodoxy represents in terms of old and new identities. The Alevis of Turkey are one of the largest, most mysterious, and least familiar religious minorities of the Middle East. Even their numbers are unknown (estimates range from 6 to 20 million) and their history is murky (they seem to have emerged as a community in the sixteenth century). The handsomely produced proceedings from a 1996 conference go a long way toward providing reliable information on this large population with a vast potential to affect Turkish public life. The one problem with Alevi Identity, at least for most readers, has to do with its being pitched for fellow experts; the volume lacks introductory chapters, a glossary, an index, and the other features that would make its subject more accessible.
In brief, the Alevis are one of the Shi`i groups so remote from the Sunni mainstream (like the Druze, the Ahl-i Haqq, and the `Alawis of Syria) that their adherence to Islam is in doubt. They have little use for the Qur'an (which they believe is missing hundreds of verses about `Ali ibn Abi Talib, the central figure of their faith), they do not attend mosque, and they ignore many of the Islamic regulations. Alevis had a rough time of it during the Ottoman period but their status improved with the Republic, which they enthusiastically backed. A profound change took place in the 1970s, when a new generation of Alevis, growing up in the cities and well-educated, turned to leftist politics as a hallmark of their identity, to the detriment of organized religion.
The Alevi tradition, unwritten and unsophisticated, now must modernize if it is to hold on to the youth and survive. This means either establishing itself as a valid, if heterodox, variant of Islam or, as the more assertive elements would have it, declaring Alevism to be "outside Islam" and its adherents not Muslims. Failing the success of either of these options, the Sunnis of Turkey and the Twelver Shi`is of Iran both avidly seek to bring Alevis into their fold. Religiously, Alevis faces a choice: join with either Sunni or Twelver Shi`i branches, become an independent grouping within Islam, or identify as non-Muslims. Before long, which direction they will go should become apparent.

About the Author
Eloise Jarvis McGraw (1915-2000) was a writer for more than fifty years and was the author of more than twenty children's books. She has won many honors and awards for her books, including the Newbery Honor, which she was given for her books Moccasin Trail (1952), The Golden Goblet (1962), and The Moorchild (1997). Eloise Jarvis McGraw died at the age of 84 in Portland, Oregon, on November 30, 2000.

A painless way to learn about ancient Egypt!

I started reading this book aloud to my daughter, and I couldn't put it down after the first few chapters. I had to read the whole book to find out what happened to Ranofer, and to find out how he could resolve his problems with his abusive half-brother and fulfill his dreams.
Reading this book really helped spark my interest in learning more about ancient Eygpt. The book is beautifully descriptive, and made me feel like I was there. It really helped me see the beauty in that culture. As I read other books about ancient Egypt, I realized I had already learned and retained quite a bit about it already just by reading this children's book! I think the author really researched her subject well.
I would highly recommend this book as an educational book, or just for fun. After the first few chapters, the story does become pretty exciting, and at the end I was left wanting more.

A Decent Piece of Historical Fiction

This is a pretty good book. The story takes place during the rule Amenhotep III and Queen Tiy. It is about a young Egyptian orphan named Ranofer, the son of Thutra, a very talented goldsmith. When his father dies, Ranofer's cruel brother Gebu takes over and makes him work as a lowly laborer in a goldshop. When Ranofer finds out that Gebu is stealing gold from tombs, he and his friend Hequet set out to find answers. One night, Ranofer finds a goblet made of solid gold which bares the cartouche of pharaoh Thutmose The Conqueror. Ranofer tries to follow and stop Gebu. But little does he know that his mistakes might cost him his life.
The Golden Goblet is very exciting and compelling, but it doesn't really get interesting until you are well into the book. It also has vocabulary that may be beyond the comprehension of some readers, so you may want to keep a dictionary handy. If you don't read this in school, you should definitely read it on your own.

Overveiw for "The Golden Goblet"

Ancient egypt is portayed in the most exiting of ways in this book, including all the details:

Positive elements:

Ranofer has a good head. he can usually decide what is best and takes advice (though not so readily) from those who are wiser and have more experience than him. though he has a bad attitude at first, by the third to fourth chapter it is made clear as to why this is so. with great ambitions, Ronofer is able to take advice to make himself ready to carry out those ambitions.

Violent content:

Ronofer's half brother is cruel to him, and beats him a few times. Ranofer is short-tempered when he meets another boy at the goldsmiths.

Spiritual content:

Ranofer, being an ancient Egyptian, beleives in and worships many gods. he beleives bone-chilling myths such as ghosts will carry away children who wander outside at night, that his father's spirit visits him, and that the dead king and queen are alive in their tomb. he prays to multiple gods, asking for the things he wishes to accomplish.

Conclusion:

What makes a book worthwhile? it is the ending. this story's ending is very fulfilling, leaving the reader as satisfied as can be, and ends with Ranofer looking forward to his dreams, now that he has removed all his barriers.
